Gernandt & Danielsson’s partner Niclas Rockborn, senior associate Rikard Sundstedt and senior associate Robin Entenza have co-authored the sixth edition of The Virtual Currency Regulation Review
The Virtual Currency Regulation Review is an international publication describing the legal and regulatory status of virtual currencies (also called cryptocurrencies) and future legal developments in the area. The publication relates to a number of activities with respect to virtual currencies from a regulatory perspective, including trading, exchanging, mining and issuing of virtual currencies. Furthermore, certain aspects of virtual currencies are analysed from a private law perspective as well as a criminal law perspective.
Partner Niclas Rockborn, senior associate Rikard Sundstedt and senior associate Robin Entenza, all active within Gernandt and Danielsson’s specialist and financial services group, are authors of the Swedish chapter. The updates in this year’s edition include inter alia the recently adopted EU Regulation on markets in cryptoassets (the MiCA regulation), questions regarding if virtual currencies may qualify as financial instruments under Swedish law, and the status of the Swedish e-krona initiative.
