Ant Financial Services Group, a member of the Alibaba digital economy, and operator of Alipay, the world's leading payments and lifestyle platform, has acquired a minority stake in Klarna, a leading global payments and shopping provider.

The investment is expected to further deepen ongoing collaborations between Klarna and Alipay, which currently enables shoppers at AliExpress, the global retail online marketplace of Alibaba Group, to use Klarna's 'Pay later' solution across multiple markets.

Gernandt & Danielsson assisted Ant Financial with a team consisting of Partners Carl Westerberg, Niclas Rockborn and Nils Unckel, Senior Associate Björn Dahlén and Associate Ludvig Berglönn.
